Art & Design Teaching Role – September 2021 | Redbridge Area

If you recognise the importance of the visual arts as a means to communicate, develop creative thinking and reasoning, if you relish the opportunity to show young people how Art can help them understand the world around them, then we would like to hear from you.

Students are taught units of study that have stimulating starting points, which are designed to teach different processes, develop and refine skills using a range of materials, and have a focus on creative thinking. The school teach Art at all key stages and offer A Level Photography at KS5.

The successful candidate for the Teacher of Art & Design will:

· Hold DfE Qualified Teacher Status, an undergraduate degree.

· Be an outstanding practitioner who inspires pupils and have experience of teaching in successful outer London school

· Have a track record of successful learning and teaching and delivering results

· Have the ability to draw upon their professional background to demonstrate their ability to successfully teach up to GCSE

· Be creative in delivering a rigorous, academic curriculum

· Believe that every child can and will succeed

· Be flexible, collaborative and resilient

· Contribute to the whole life of the school through our extensive enrichment programme.

· Have the highest ambitions for your pupils, the department, the school and yourself

This is a community school that serves a richly diverse area of East London, with many ethnic groups and languages represented. We have good facilities, including sports facilities, and opportunities to teach across the full age range.
